Quote from Good Morning Britain video at the end of this post:
"Churchill was obsessed with his hatred for Indian, so much so that his right wing conservative colleagues in the cabinet were worried about the level of his racism and how out of touch it was. So the idea that he was kind of part of this moment of history where everyone in Britain was racist and it's not fair to impose modern standards on him is simply not true"
Many of the facts below are taken from Churchill's autobiography. If you don't already know about this side of the man who has been painted in the history books as nothing but a hero, we would highly recommend reading about why some facts are so difficult to learn (click here) BEFORE you scroll down.
The video below is interesting:
Interesting to watch Piers Morgan become so upset at the idea that people should learn a whole history about Churchill.
"Winston Churchill was the man that saved the world from Adolf Hilter, from Naziism, from a man that wanted to exterminate every Jew in the world".
Very true, but does this mean we should learn half a history?
Is it ok that he was willing to see 3 million Indian people die?
He accuses Afua of 'not being prepared to look to the bigger picture' when in fact that is exactly what he is doing!
